Hi, I’m Ekta (they/she), founder of Unity Counseling. I’m a Registered Social Worker, trauma-informed therapist, and yoga and meditation teacher.
As a queer South Asian, trauma survivor, former teen caregiver, and first-generation immigrant to Canada, I know what it’s like to navigate life while holding complex identities. I’m especially passionate about supporting people of the global majority (BIPOC) to heal from personal, ancestral, and systemic trauma.
My early experiences in talk therapy left me feeling unseen. It wasn’t until I wove together Yoga, Buddhist wisdom, and somatic strategies that real transformation began. Now, I help clients do the same—bridging body, mind, and spirit in a way that honors your lived experience, culture, and inner wisdom.
